Privacy policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
The short version: we collect only what we need to book and hold your call, we never ask health questions online, and we never sell your information or share your phone number with anyone for marketing.
Who we are
Open Book Life is a trade name of Tucker Marketing Group LLC, an Ohio-licensed insurance agency, license #1625624. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “Open Book Life” mean Tucker Marketing Group LLC doing business as Open Book Life. This policy covers openbooklife.com, our booking pages, and the calls and texts that follow a booking.
We help Ohio residents find final expense life insurance. We are an insurance agency, not an insurance company: any policy you buy is issued by the insurance company named on it, and that company's own privacy notice also applies to the information you give it.
What we collect
Information you give us when you book a call
- Your first and last name
- Your mobile phone number
- Your email address, if you choose to give it
- Your age range (for example, 60 to 69), not your date of birth
- The rough amount of coverage you're interested in, if you choose to tell us
- Who the coverage is for (you, a parent, or both of you)
- If you're booking for a parent or another person, their name and phone number so we can bring them onto the call
- The day and time you pick, and whether you want a phone or video call
A record of your consent
When you agree to calls and texts, we save the exact wording you agreed to, the page you were on, the date and time, your IP address and your browser type. We keep this as proof of your consent.
Messages and calls
We keep the texts we send you and the replies you send us, along with delivery status, so we can answer you and honor opt-outs. We keep short call notes, such as “quoted, follow-up Tuesday”.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our site receives basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the website or ad that sent you. See Cookies and ad measurement.
What we don't collect online
Our website and booking form never ask for health conditions, medications, height and weight, date of birth, Social Security number or bank details. If you decide to apply for coverage, those questions are asked on the call and your answers go directly into the insurance company's application. We don't store health information in our own records, notes or texts.
How we use your information
- To book, confirm, remind you about, reschedule or cancel your call
- To call you at the time you chose and talk about coverage options
- To help you apply for a policy, if you decide to
- To answer your texts and emails
- To keep records that show you agreed to be contacted, and that we honored any opt-out
- To check that we're licensed to help you (we serve Ohio residents only)
- To measure which of our own ads lead to booked calls, without sending any health information
- To meet our legal, licensing and record-keeping duties as an insurance agency
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other agents, call centers or lead buyers.
We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers who run our systems for us. Our website host, our database provider, our texting and calling provider, and our calendar and video-call provider. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Insurance companies, when you apply. If you choose to apply for a policy, the information in your application goes to the insurance company you choose, with your permission.
- Ad measurement. When you book, we may tell the advertising platform that showed you our ad that a booking happened, so it can measure our ads. We never send health information or call outcomes. See Cookies and ad measurement.
- When the law requires it. To respond to a court order, a regulator such as the Ohio Department of Insurance, or to protect someone's safety.
- If the business changes hands. If Open Book Life is sold or transferred, your information would move with it, still covered by this policy.
Text messages and your mobile number
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your mobile number and your consent to receive texts will never be shared with third parties, affiliates or lead generators for their marketing or promotional purposes.
- We text only the person who booked and agreed to texts. We never text a second person you name.
- Our texts are about your booked call: a confirmation, reminders, a link to reschedule, and replies to your questions.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop all texts. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
- Our texting provider processes your number and messages only to deliver our texts. See our texting terms for the full details.
Cookies and ad measurement
Our site may use cookies and similar tools, including advertising tools such as the Meta Pixel, to understand how visitors find us and which of our ads lead to booked calls. These tools may collect the technical information described above. We set them up so that no health information, and nothing about what was said on your call, is ever sent to an advertising platform.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings. The site still works if you block cookies.
How we protect it
Information is encrypted when it travels to our site and when it is stored. Access to our records is limited to people who need it to serve you and requires two-step sign-in. Our database refuses requests from anyone other than our booking system and signed-in staff. Booking links in our texts stop working after your appointment.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your information, we will investigate and notify you and the Ohio Department of Insurance as Ohio law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and contact records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet the record-keeping rules that apply to insurance agencies. We keep consent and opt-out records unchanged for as long as they may be needed to show that we contacted you only with your permission.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop texts. Reply HELP for help.
- Use the link in any text to reschedule or cancel your call.
- Ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.
Contact us using the details below. We may need to keep some records, such as consent and opt-out records, where the law requires it.
Children
Our services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and change the date at the top.
